SEAKR Foundation - Feature Audrey Michel (Photographer)

It was truly an honor to design the SEAKR Foundation 1st Annual Gala Dinner. The SEAKR Foundation is a unique non-profit organization that financially supports Colorado Military families whose spouse / parent has been killed in action in Afghanistan or Iraq.
As these families struggle to deal with the death of their loved one, often they are also having to deal with the loss of their primary source of income. The government subsidizes a partial amount of the soldier's income to help the families, but this pittance is more than often than not insufficient.
If you would like to get more information on how you can contribute to this great cause contact a Foundation Representative at (303) 858-4559.

A special thanks to the very talented Audrey Michel Photography (www.audreymichelphotography.com) who captured this wonderful event.

Venue - Daniel & Fisher Clock Tower

With my background in Interior Design, I completely fell in love with the Daniel & Fisher Clock Tower. The top five levels of this Historic Landmark is now available for Special Events. It has spectacular panoramic views of Downtown Denver and is located in the heart of the city on the corner of 16th Street (Mall) and Arapahoe Street.
The Clock Tower is an intimate venue for smaller weddings or events. The recently renovated space features five floors with breathtaking views from two balconies. The interior of this space is chic, sophisticated and provides guest the opportunity to see behind the mysterious clock faces.

To get more information and book your next event in the Historic Clock Tower browse their website at www.clocktowerevents.com for more information.

Real Wedding - Crystal Candelabras - Feauture Cori Cook (Floral Designer) & Becky Young (Photographer)

I was very excited when I "found" these crystal candelabras to collaborate with the very talented Floral Designer - Cori Cook (www.coricook.com.) She did an absolutely stunning job bringing this elegant wedding to life with her floral centerpieces and bouquets.

These beautiful images were captured by the equally talented Becky Young (www.beckyyoungphotography.com)

Inspiration Board - Classic Red and Silver

Ok, so I'm a little bias about this color scheme, because that is the colors I used for my wedding. This color combination is fresh, yet classy and the little shimmer of silver can make any event sparkle!

Inspiration Board - Orange and Aqua

With summer coming to an end and fall fast approaching, this contrasting color selection is a perfect combination for your wedding or special event. The aqua adds a fun and vibrant splash while the deep orange adds sophistication. Contrasting colors, also known as complimentary colors are colors opposite from each other on the color wheel. Contrasting colors creates drama and visual interest because it makes each color appear more vibrantly. This is truly a fresh interpretation on a classic color combination.

Hold on tight, cause here we go . . . . . !

Growing up in beautiful South Africa with such amazing culture and influences I've learned from an early age to appreciate and respect the beauty that surrounds us. Not just the beauty in material things, but the beauty in people, nature, and all the differences that makes each one of us unique. It was honestly not until I started traveling that I truly understood the value of this lesson.

I certainly think that once you cross the ocean for the first time, something within you changes. Your eyes open and literally a whole new world is exposed. You gain perspectives and experiences that change you as a human being. Seeing the "world" also reveals what you've been blessed with and the beauty within.

It is therefore with great appreciation that I get to do what I love - Design. I can find inspiration in this crazy but beautiful world. I love bringing unique elements and details into my designs. I think a design comes to life when you combine the old with new, vintage with classic, and rustic with elegant. I'm blessed that I can create spaces and events and hopefully leave a trail of beauty along the way. For the past few years I've had incredible opportunities to design for a living, now I have the chance to create for the love of design.

Starting my own business has been a journey. I'm am super excited to share with you the wonderful ideas, people and places I am discovering along this wonderful and exciting journey. This is a dream taking flight, so hold on tight, cause here we go . . .!
